U.S. airstrikes last week destroyed multiple Houthi-occupied structures near the historic Al-Baraqish area, located between Yemen's Marib and Al-Jawf governorates, according to local sources.
The strikes targeted residential buildings seized by Houthi leaders, and repurposed as headquarters and weapons storage facilities. The destroyed buildings reportedly belonged to civilians Saleh Bin Ali and Yahya Bin Ali, who completed their construction in 2021, shortly before the Houthis gained control of the region.
The airstrikes resulted in the deaths of several Houthi leaders, including Abu Al-Hassan Al-Ghail. Sources in Marib identified three additional Houthi leaders killed in the strikes: Yahya Ali Abdullah Al-Namas, Hassan Khaled Saud Aboud Dhaifallah, and Saqr Saleh Al-Dahsha’a. Yahya Ali Abdullah Al-Namas was described as a significant Houthi military figure, overseeing operations in Marib and Al-Jawf and playing a key role in the group's territorial expansion since 2015.
U.S. forces have increased airstrikes against Houthi targets across Yemen since mid-March.
