On Monday, government forces repelled an attack launched by the Iran-backed Houthi forces on the Karsh front northern of Lahj province, southern Yemen.
 
According to a military source speaking to Barran Press, the government forces positioned on the right flank of the Karsh front engaged in protracted clashes with the Houthis, who initiated a surprise offensive targeting the Karsh and Shifan sectors. Government forces countered the assault, using artillery strikes against Houthi positions.
The engagement resulted in casualties on both sides. Several Houthi combatants were reportedly killed or injured. Government forces sustained losses, with three soldiers confirmed killed.
The Karsh front has been characterized by recurrent Houthi military activity, including artillery shelling and drone attacks targeting government-held positions.
