The U.S. military significantly escalated its air campaign against Iran-backed Houthi targets on Friday, conducting 35 airstrikes across five provinces under the group's control.
Entering its second month, the sustained U.S. operation targeted military sites, arms depots, command centers, and hideouts associated with the Houthis.
The majority of the strikes concentrated on the capital Sana'a and the strategic western port city of Hodeidah. A regional breakdown follows:
Sana'a:
* 6 strikes on Houthi hideouts in Bani Hashish district
* 3 strikes on weapons depots at Al-Hafa base, Al-Sabain district
* 2 strikes on storage facilities at Al-Sammah camp, Arhab district
Hodeidah:
* 14 strikes on the Ras Issa oil terminal and port area in Al-Salif district
Al-Jawf:
* 4 strikes on military sites in Bart Al-Anan and Khab wa Al-Sha’af districts
Saada:
* 3 airstrikes on weapons caches
Al-Baydha:
* 3 strikes on a Houthi operations room in Mukayras district
Reported Civilian Casualties:
Houthi-affiliated media reported that the strikes on Ras Issa resulted in at least 80 fatalities and 150 injuries.
