Vice President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan al-Aradah, appealed on Tuesday for continued and robust international support aimed at bolstering Yemen's economic recovery and the reinstatement of state institutions.
During a meeting with Jeannette Seppen, the Netherlands Ambassador to Yemen, al-Aradah stressed the critical importance of sustained assistance for the Yemeni government’s development agenda. He specifically highlighted the need for projects focused on essential services, reconstruction initiatives, and economic revitalization.
Their discussions also encompassed the latest political, humanitarian, and economic developments throughout the nation.
According to the state-run Saba News Agency, al-Aradah expressed his appreciation for the Netherlands’ enduring humanitarian and development contributions, which include programs dedicated to capacity-building and the empowerment of women.
Looking ahead, he urged the Netherlands to prioritize crucial sectors such as healthcare, education, and food security in their future support, emphasizing the necessity of impactful and precisely targeted interventions.
Furthermore, al-Aradah briefed Ambassador Sieben on the persistent challenges posed by the Iran-backed Houthis. He accused the internationally designated terrorist group of rejecting peace proposals and escalating violence, thereby exacerbating Yemen's protracted crisis.
