The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its welcome on Wednesday regarding the reached ceasefire agreement between the United States and the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
This development follows approximately two months of U.S. airstrikes targeting the group's positions, hideouts, and headquarters.

According to a statement published by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom welcomed the statement issued by the Sultanate of Oman concerning the ceasefire in Yemen, aimed at protecting navigation and international trade.
The statement reiterated the Kingdom's support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, ensuring security and stability for Yemen and the region.

In a related context, Egypt also welcomed the "success of Omani efforts, which resulted in reaching a ceasefire agreement between the Houthis and the United States," according to a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Egypt expressed its hope that this agreement would positively impact freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

In its statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed its aspiration that the coming period would witness commitment to the agreement, "in a way that gives a constructive impetus to ending the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and to efforts to establish security and stability in the region."

On Tuesday, the Omani Foreign Ministry announced the ceasefire agreement between the United States and the Iranian-backed Houthi group. According to the Omani statement, the agreement stipulates that "neither party will target the other in the future, including ships in the Red Sea, in a way that ensures freedom of navigation and the flow of international commercial shipping."

The Omani announcement came hours after statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who affirmed that the Houthi group had informed him of their surrender and cessation of attacks on commercial vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas. Consequently, Trump stated that the U.S. would halt airstrikes against the group in Yemen.

Since March 15, U.S. aircraft had conducted hundreds of airstrikes targeting Houthi positions across six governorates under the group's control, in response to their attacks on international shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas.
