Local sources reported Saturday that the Houthi group is detaining four cargo vessels in Hodeidah port following recent Israeli airstrikes on the facility. The ships, reportedly including "shadow vessels" suspected of sanctions evasion, were prevented from leaving, according to local media.

The Houthis cited the need for "favorable conditions" to unload cargo despite damage to the port from Friday's strikes, raising questions about their motives. The Israeli military confirmed the strikes on Hodeidah and other Houthi-controlled ports, with Prime Minister Netanyahu vowing further action and a naval blockade.

This incident followed intensified Israeli activity in the area, including a May 16th strike on Hodeidah port after a Houthi missile launch towards Israel. The detention of the ships adds to concerns about maritime disruptions in the already volatile region.
