The Yemeni Parliament's Speaker's Office on Wednesday announced the formation of three specialized field committees. Comprising members of parliament, these committees are tasked with conducting financial and administrative examinations of local authorities across various governorates. This move signals the parliament's initial re-engagement with its critical oversight responsibilities.

The decisions, reported by the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), were made during a meeting of the Speaker's Office at its General Secretariat headquarters in Aden, the country's interim capital. The session was chaired by Parliament Speaker Sheikh Sultan Al-Burkani, alongside fellow Speaker's Office members Engineer Mohammed Al-Shaddadi and Engineer Mohsen Basra.

The newly established parliamentary committees will undertake field visits to the governorates. Their mandate includes scrutinizing the activity of local authorities, financial and administrative actions, central and local public resources, and identifying imbalances in oil operations and the work of revenue-generating institutions.

The parliamentary resolutions outline the formation of three distinct committees. The first committee will oversee the governorates of Shabwah, Marib, and Abyan, with its members identified as Abdullah Al-Maqtari, Abdul Rahman Al-Ashbi, Saleh Al-Ameri, Hussein Al-Sawadi, Abdul Karim Shaiban, and Ibrahim Al-Fashiq. The second committee is assigned to Hadramout and Al-Mahrah governorates, and its members include Insaf Mayo, Ali Al-Lahbi, Ibrahim Al-Mazlam, Ali Al-Maamari, and Salem Haidara. Finally, the third committee, consisting of Zakaria Al-Zikri, Dr. Mohammed Al-Qubati, Qasim Al-Kasadi, Ali Ashal, Fouad Waqaed, Mohammed Al-Himyari, Suhail Abdul Razzaq, and Abdullah Al-Khalaqi, is tasked with visiting the governorates of Aden, Taiz, Lahij, and Al-Dhale.
