The Abductees' Mothers Association on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, conveyed the story of the family of the kidnapped "Najib Hassan Ali Farag Al-Anini," one of the sons of the Ta'izia Directorate in Ta'izz Governorate (southwest of the country), who died in mysterious circumstances in the prisons of the Houthi militia, which is internationally designated as a terrorist group.

The association quoted the family of "Al-Anini" in a statement, a copy of which was received by "Barran Press," as saying that they were surprised to receive his picture, which was sent to them, that it was the same picture of him on the day of his kidnapping on February 22, 2017.

The family pointed out that the picture shows "the same clothes and the same appearance but he is dead," confirming that the picture indicates that his death was on the day of his kidnapping and he remained hidden as a corpse for all these years.

The picture - according to the statement - arrived attached to a notice from the Red Cross, which informed the family of his death and that they had to attend to receive his body last Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The association said in its statement that the Houthis forcibly concealed the kidnapped "Al-Anini" from the day of his kidnapping until the International Red Cross informed his family of his death and to attend to receive his body.

She added that for "8" years and more, the family of "Najib Al-Anini" did not receive any information about him despite searching for him for all these years.

The association confirmed that while it condemns and denounces what the kidnapped "Najib Al-Anini" was subjected to, it was "a victim of violence and injustice, starting with his kidnapping and then forcibly concealing him for eight years as a corpse without the knowledge of his family."

The association held the Houthi militia fully responsible for his death, calling for an international investigation to uncover the circumstances of the deaths of the kidnapped and forcibly disappeared in prisons, and to hold those responsible for these crimes, which amount to war crimes, accountable and end the impunity of perpetrators of violations.

On May 19, 2024, human rights sources told "Barran Press" about the death of the kidnapped "Najib Hassan Ali Farag," one of the residents of the village of "Al-Badbah" in the "Al-Rabiei" isolation, which is affiliated with the Ta'izia Directorate northwest of Ta'izz, in Houthi prisons.

The sources said that "Najib's" family received, on that day, a notice from the Red Cross of the death of their kidnapped son in the prisons of the Houthi militia, which is internationally classified as a terrorist group, since his kidnapping from his home on February 22, 2017.

The International Committee of the Red Cross handed over a picture of him to the family of the kidnapped, in which "clear signs of torture appeared on the face, neck and chest," indicating that the Houthis did not hand over the body of the deceased kidnapped person and did not mention any other details about the circumstances of his kidnapping and the circumstances of his death.
