A training course on the use of chlorine and its standards in health facilities was held in Marib on Sunday, June 2, 2024, targeting 45 workers from health facilities in Marib and Al-Jawf governorates.

The training, organized by the Water and Sanitation Foundation, Ma'rib Branch, in collaboration with the Public Health and Population Offices in both governorates and funded by UNICEF, aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare workers in ensuring safe water practices.

Dr. Abd Rabbuh Muftah, the governorate's representative, emphasized the importance of collective efforts to improve health standards and protect the community from the spread of diseases, particularly in light of the large displaced population in Marib facing challenging living conditions.

The training comes as the city of Marib also witnessed the launch of a separate health training course on Saturday, June 1, focusing on acute watery diarrhea and cholera case management. This course, which involved 30 male and female trainees from response teams, aimed to bolster the capacity of healthcare professionals to effectively manage these potentially deadly diseases.

These training initiatives highlight the ongoing efforts to address health challenges in Marib, a region grappling with displacement, conflict, and limited resources. The focus on safe water practices and disease management underscores the importance of promoting public health and ensuring the well-being of the local population.
