On Monday, June 3, 2024, Safir Exploration Company in Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen, categorically denied any smuggling of oil materials from the oil field wells through "illegal means".
In a statement issued by a security source within the company, a copy of which was obtained by "Barran Press," Safir responded to what it described as "misleading rumors" circulating on social media platforms regarding the alleged illegal smuggling of oil from the field wells. The company emphasized that these allegations have no factual basis.
The source stated that "the security and military units responsible for protecting the facility are working to secure all oil fields and wells, and have safeguarded the facility since the Houthi group, internationally classified as a terrorist organization, seized power in 2014. They will continue to fulfill their national duty in protecting the country's resources."
The statement called on news websites, online platforms, and social media activists to prioritize accuracy and credibility and to obtain information from official sources while refraining from engaging with news from unknown origins.
Furthermore, it highlighted that the purpose behind such news is to undermine national achievements and efforts to preserve oil facilities amidst the challenging circumstances faced by the nation. The source reaffirmed the commitment of the security and military units responsible for safeguarding the Safir facility to fulfill their national duty in protecting public properties.
