Critical Injury of a Woman in Houthi Shelling Targeting Residential Neighborhood in Taiz

According to local sources, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a woman sustained a "critical" injury as a result of shelling conducted by the internationally classified terrorist group, the Houthis, targeting a residential neighborhood in the eastern part of the city of Taiz, located in southwestern Yemen.

The sources stated that a mortar shell fired by the Houthis struck a house near the 14th of October School in the Tha'bat area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sala directorate. The attack resulted in the injury of a woman named "Um Hani Hamid Al-Adini," according to the official website of the Yemeni army, "September Net."

The sources indicated that the victim was inside her house at the time of the attack and was subsequently transported to one of the city's hospitals. Her condition is described as "critical."

Taiz, which is besieged by the Houthi group listed as a terrorist organization, has been witnessing continuous targeting of residential neighborhoods and villages, resulting in civilian casualties, according to human rights reports.
