Gulf Cooperation Council and Yemen to Hold Joint Ministerial Meeting in Doha

 The Qatari capital, Doha, will host a joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Republic of Yemen on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, on the sidelines of the 160th GCC Ministerial Council meeting.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the meeting will discuss "prospects for cooperation in various political, economic, and humanitarian fields."

Earlier today, Yemen's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, arrived in Doha to participate in the meeting.

Yemen's ambassador to Doha, Rajih Badi, stated that the joint ministerial meeting will be chaired by Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

In a tweet on X, Badi highlighted that the meeting will "focus on exploring all avenues to expand cooperation between our country and the GCC countries."

He added that the Foreign Minister will present "developments in our country at all political, economic, and security levels, and the anticipated roles of our brothers in the GCC countries to double support for Yemen during this delicate and challenging phase in our country's history."

Badi praised "the level and strength of relations between our country and the GCC countries and peoples, and the constant commitment from both sides to strengthen and develop these relations in all fields."
