Marib Security Forces Arrest Gang Leader Accused of Drug Trafficking

Security forces in Marib governorate, eastern Yemen, have arrested a suspected gang leader accused of drug trafficking, along with another individual believed to be associated with the group.

A security source in Marib, who requested anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media, told "Barran Press" that a security operation conducted by the Saba Police Department in Marib Al-Wadi district resulted in the arrest of (A.M.J), a 37-year-old man accused of leading a gang involved in the sale, distribution, and use of hashish, alcohol, and narcotics.

The source revealed that (A.M.J) was apprehended with quantities of hashish and locally produced alcohol in his possession. The operation also led to the arrest of (S.A), a 32-year-old man suspected of collaborating with the gang leader in the production of alcohol and supplying materials for its manufacture.

Both suspects have been handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings. The security operation continues, with authorities working in coordination with local dignitaries, including Sheikh Fahad bin Hassan bin Ma'ili, to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
