The internationally recognized Yemeni government on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, called for an end to the repeated violations and attacks by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip in Palestine.

In a statement released by the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government condemned a recent Israeli attack on a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip. The statement, reported by the official Yemeni news agency Saba, described the attack, which resulted in dozens of civilian casualties, as a "flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws."

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people, and the fulfillment of their aspirations for security, stability, a dignified life, and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On Saturday, July 6th, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli army had committed a massacre against displaced civilians in the UNRWA school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry stated that the Israeli airstrike targeted the "Ja'ouni" school belonging to UNRWA in the Nuseirat camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that the rockets directly targeted displaced people who had sought refuge in the UNRWA school after fleeing Khan Yunis following warnings from the Israeli army. The bombing resulted in the death of 15 people and the injury of dozens, according to initial reports.

The Israeli army later admitted to bombing the "Ja'ouni" school belonging to UNRWA in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

In a statement published on its official account on the X platform, the Israeli army claimed that based on intelligence information from the army and the Shabak (Israel's internal security agency), its aircraft targeted "terrorist elements" in buildings located in the area of the Ja'ouni school in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army also alleged that the targeted site (the school) was a hiding place and operational infrastructure used to direct and carry out attacks against Israeli forces operating in Gaza.

As a result, the death toll from Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in 2023 has risen to 39,100 martyrs and 87,705 wounded since October 7th, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
