Houthi militants reportedly besieged and attacked the home of Sheikh Saleh Hantoush in Al-Bayda village, Reimah province, on Tuesday. The assault, involving various weapons, has sparked fears of serious injuries to Sheikh Hantoush and his wife.

Local sources informed Barran Press that armed Houthi fighters surrounded the residence of Sheikh Saleh Hantoush, who directs Dar Al-Quran Al-Kareem in Al-Salafia district. They allegedly fired indiscriminately at the house with RPGs and other armaments, aiming to force his surrender under threats of arrest or demolition of his home.

Video clips circulating online purportedly show the Houthi military operation engulfing Sheikh Hantoush's house, with continuous targeting visible since Tuesday morning. The footage also appears to show the house ablaze, a result of the ongoing Houthi assault that was reportedly still active as of 4:00 PM local time.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms confirmed that the Houthi group launched this armed campaign, led by Fares Al-Habari, the Houthi-appointed governor of Reimah. The network condemned the "heinous crime" against Hantoush, a prominent Quranic teacher, and stated that armed elements used RPGs in their indiscriminate firing.
The network is urging the international community, the United Nations, its special envoy, and human rights organizations to explicitly condemn these "atrocious crimes." It asserted that "this barbaric crime embodies the true face of the Houthi group, which has consistently committed extrajudicial killings and liquidations against innocent people, in flagrant defiance of all international laws and humanitarian conventions."
