The Arab Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights, chaired by Vice President of the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Committee, Alawi al-Basha bin Zaba', announced the outcomes of the committee's meeting on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Al-Basha, a member of the Yemeni Shura Council, made a statement to the Arab Parliament's media center, seen by Barran Press, that the committee's meeting resulted in the "approval of an anti-bullying law and an anti-illegal immigration law."

He explained that the Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Committee discussed a draft Arab law to combat bullying in the Arab world and a draft Arab law to combat illegal immigration in the Arab world.

Al-Basha stated that "the anti-bullying law was approved today, while the anti-illegal immigration law was approved as a draft." He added that "the draft will be further studied and sent to the committees of the Arab parliaments for comments before being approved in the next session."

On Thursday, the Arab Parliament held meetings of its four permanent committees: Foreign and Political Affairs, Economic and Financial Affairs, Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights, and Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs.

These committee meetings are part of the preparations for the fifth session of the fourth term of the third legislative session of the Arab Parliament, chaired by Arab Parliament President Adel Al-Asoumi.
