Coast Guard Rescues 8 from Drowning During "Nujum al-Balda" Season in Hadhramaut

The Coast Guard in Hadhramaut province, southeastern Yemen, reported on Friday, July 26, 2024, that they rescued eight people who had been involved in drowning incidents during the 11th day of the "Nujum al-Balda" tourism season.

In a statement received by Barran Press, the Coast Guard stated that search and rescue teams successfully rescued five young men who had been involved in drowning incidents on the Corniche beach in Ash Sharah. The statement confirmed that all five young men are in good health and their condition is stable.

According to the Hadhramaut Coast Guard, two other individuals were also rescued. One, a 35-year-old man from Ibb province in northern Yemen, was rescued after a drowning incident on the Al-Sittin beach in front of Diyar Bajarsh.

The other rescued individual was a 34-year-old man from Shabwa province who had been involved in a drowning incident on the Al-Sittin Corniche beach in Mukalla.

The Coast Guard also rescued an 18-year-old young man who had been involved in a drowning incident on the Shahir beach. All rescued individuals are reported to be in stable condition.

The Hadhramaut Coast Guard leadership urged citizens to exercise caution and vigilance while swimming, adhere to warning signs and regulations, avoid swimming in dangerous areas, wear life jackets, and avoid swimming long distances towards the deep sea.
