Houthi militants, designated as a terrorist group by several countries, have blown up the home of a civilian in southeastern Taiz governorate, according to a military spokesperson.

Colonel Abdulbast al-Bahar, spokesperson for the Taiz Military Axis of the Yemeni army, stated that the Houthis detonated the home of Ahmed Abdo Saeed Hassan al-Sharif in the village of "Al-Jirat," in the "Abdan" area of Sabr al-Mawadam district, on Monday morning.

Al-Bahar, in a statement received by Barran Press, confirmed that al-Sharif's home was completely destroyed. He condemned the act as "part of the systematic violations and crimes committed by the internationally designated Houthi group against Yemenis."

The Houthis have employed the tactic of blowing up homes as a form of terrorism for years, particularly targeting their opponents. The most recent instance of this occurred in the city of Rada'a in Bayda governorate (central Yemen) on March 19th.

The Houthi bombing of two homes belonging to families in Rada'a resulted in the deaths of approximately 12 people, including three women and a child, and injured 20 others. Seven other homes were also destroyed in the blast.

According to human rights reports, the Houthis have detonated over 716 homes in Yemen over the past 12 years, affecting 1,123 families and killing or injuring 51 people, including children and women. The attacks have also resulted in 25 miscarriages.
