Abdullah al-Alimi, a member of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, declared on Monday that the "legitimate" government coalition is "in its best shape and stands on solid ground in the face of a single adversary, the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization."

Al-Alimi made these remarks during a meeting chaired by Presidential Council President Rashad al-Alimi in Hadramaut province, attended by Governor Mabkhout bin Maadi, local authority leaders, and members of the province's executive office, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

Al-Alimi highlighted Hadramaut's deserving attention, calling it "the province that has provided a model of stability, coexistence, openness, and preservation of state institutions."

He emphasized the importance of prioritizing service delivery to citizens and strengthening state institutions, urging the government and local authorities to "work towards monitoring and implementing the matrix of service and public issues for the province, prepared by the government, including service and investment needs, facilitating the private sector to attract capital, and ensuring the work of international organizations and humanitarian relief agencies."

The Presidential Council member pointed to "the importance of Hadramaut overcoming any internal disputes and establishing the principles of transparency, integrity, combating corruption, and inclusivity."

Al-Alimi called for "avoiding the exclusion of any political components within the framework of legitimacy and strengthening Hadramaut's position and role, which is currently governed and managed by its own sons."

Since Saturday, July 27th, Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council President Rashad al-Alimi, accompanied by council members Abdullah al-Alimi and Othman Majli, has been visiting the oil-rich Hadramaut province in southeastern Yemen.

This is al-Alimi's second visit to Hadramaut since the Presidential Council assumed power in Yemen in April 2022. The province "has been facing intertwined financial and developmental challenges since the terrorist attacks of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias on oil facilities, export ports, cargo ships, and international shipping routes."

Upon his arrival, Rashad al-Alimi confirmed "the Council and the government's understanding of the financial situation in Hadramaut province (southeastern Yemen) and their shared responsibility with the local authority in the province for successes and failures, not running away from them."
