Local sources told "Barran Press" that a lightning strike hit the home of Abed Saleh Hussein Abu Yahya in the Al-Rujm district of Al-Mahweet, killing his 7-year-old son, Rimah.
Another lightning strike hit the home of Mohammed Shoua'i Al-Atruf, also in the Al-Rujm district, injuring him with burns and setting ablaze the room where he was located.
In Amran, local sources reported that two young men and a child sustained injuries and burns from a lightning strike in the Khamr district.
Since the beginning of July, "Barran Press" has documented the deaths of 31 people, including women and children, and injuries to 13 others due to lightning strikes in several provinces. This brings the total number of lightning strike victims to 32 killed and 17 injured.
The recent surge in lightning strikes across Yemen has highlighted the vulnerability of communities to extreme weather events. The lack of proper infrastructure and awareness about lightning safety has contributed to the tragic loss of life and injuries.
