The Awqaf and Guidance Office in Marib Governorate (northeastern Yemen) concluded its first Quranic camp on Monday, August 5th, 2024. The camp, which ran for a month, targeted 133 students enrolled in the office's Quran memorization centers.

The event was celebrated with a ceremony where Marib Governorate Deputy, Abdullah Al-Bakri, praised the camp's contribution to "instilling students with immunity against extremist ideologies and utilizing summer break for beneficial knowledge, primarily memorizing the Holy Quran."

Al-Bakri emphasized the need for collective efforts in combating the "sectarian Houthi ideas that are foreign to our society."

Hassan Al-Qubisi, Director General of the Awqaf Office, highlighted the camp's success in providing a platform for 133 students to "learn various Islamic sciences and memorize portions of the Holy Quran."

Al-Qubisi further explained that the camp aimed to "preserve the time of our children and develop the next generation through moderate Islamic teachings, refuting extremist ideologies propagated by the Houthi terrorist militia."

The ceremony featured various artistic performances, recitations by the students, and an award ceremony recognizing outstanding students.
