Bodies of a young man and a child, victims of floods, found in Hodeidah

Local sources reported on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the discovery of the bodies of a young man and a child who were swept away by flash floods in Yemen's Hodeidah Governorate.

Sources told "Barran Press" that local residents found the body of the child, "Mohammed Yahya Ahmed Abdullah," after he was carried away by floodwaters in the "Ramiya al-Sufla" area, west of the "Sukhna" district in Hodeidah.

The sources added that residents in the city of "Qanaous" in Hodeidah discovered the body of a man buried by floodwaters in a nearby wadi. The deceased's identity remains unknown.

Hodeidah Governorate experienced extremely heavy rainfall in late last week and early this week. The resulting flash floods caused significant human and material losses in various parts of the governorate.
