Yemeni Forces Seize Half-Ton of Hashish Off Lahj Coast

Joint security forces in Yemen's southern Lahj governorate announced Saturday, June 28, 2025, the seizure of a boat carrying half a ton of hashish off the coast of Al-Mudaraba and Ras Al-Ara, near Bab Al-Mandab.
According to a statement from the Giants Brigades media, seen by "Bran Press," naval patrols intercepted the vessel approximately 15 miles off the coast of Ras Al-Ara after a firefight with smugglers on board.
Smugglers Apprehended, Drugs Confiscated
The statement detailed that security forces successfully gained control of the boat and arrested three smugglers. The vessel was found laden with a large quantity of various types of hashish and other narcotics, exceeding 500 kilograms, reportedly en route for trafficking into the country.
Joint security forces confirmed that the seized drugs and the arrested smugglers have been handed over to the relevant legal authorities for necessary action.


Forces in Al-Sabiha districts, particularly along the coasts of Al-Mudaraba and Ras Al-Ara, emphasized their commitment to an open and uncompromising battle against smuggling and criminal networks. They affirmed their resolve despite facing significant challenges both on land and at sea.
