Local sources reported on Monday, August 12, 2024, that a civilian was killed by a soldier from the Giant Brigades forces in Shabwah governorate (eastern Yemen).

The sources told "Barran Press" that the civilian, Abdulrahman Ahmed Shana Ali, was killed today by gunfire from a Giant Brigades soldier in the "Khir" valley in the Bayhan district (northwest Shabwah).

The sources confirmed that the Giant Brigades forces apprehended the soldier after he committed the murder before he could flee, and detained him in the government prison in Bayhan al-Oliya, the district center.

Shabwah governorate (eastern Yemen), under the control of the Southern Transitional Council, has witnessed a continuous wave of killings and tribal clashes stemming from blood feuds or personal disputes over land. This comes amidst reports of unprecedented security breaches in the governorate.
