Four people, including two children, are missing after being swept away by flash floods in the Yemeni province of Ibb on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Local sources told "Barran Press" that the two young men, Ayham Salim Al-Arhabi and Wadie Qanaf, were attempting to rescue the two children who were caught in the floodwaters in the city of Ibb when they were also swept away.
Meanwhile, residents in the city of Jabal in Ibb managed to rescue a woman and her child after they were swept from their home in the Al-Khashba area by the floodwaters.
"Barran Press" obtained a video showing the dramatic moment the woman was rescued, clinging to her child as the floodwaters raged around them.
Heavy to very heavy rains lashed the province of Ibb on Thursday afternoon, leading to significant flooding in the city's streets and valleys.
As Yemen enters the autumn rainy season, several provinces have witnessed numerous drowning incidents, claiming the lives of dozens, including women and children.
