The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning issued a forecast on Sunday, August 25th, predicting partly cloudy to cloudy skies with varying intensity of thunderstorms in nine Yemeni governorates over the next 24 hours. Ten other governorates are expected to experience scattered rainfall.

The daily bulletin, reviewed by Barran Press, anticipates partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with continued heavy thunderstorms, some accompanied by hail and downdrafts, in parts of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Remah, Ibb, and Taiz governorates.

The center also indicated the possibility of scattered rainfall in parts of Mahrah, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Dhale, Al-Bayda, Marib, and Al-Jawf governorates.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible rainfall are expected along the coastal areas of Hajjah, Hudaydah, and Taiz.

Strong winds exceeding 40 knots are forecast around the Socotra archipelago, while moderate winds are expected in the Gulf of Aden and along the eastern and southern coasts during the day.

In desert regions, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with scattered thunderstorms are anticipated. Moderate to active winds, sometimes intensifying to raise dust and sand, are also expected.

The National Center has issued a warning to citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall, urging them to avoid low-lying areas and flood channels, seek shelter from thunderstorms and strong winds, and protect themselves from hail.

The center also cautioned about reduced visibility due to rainfall, dense cumulus clouds, and potential rock slides. It urged relevant government agencies to take necessary measures to protect lives and property and to monitor its bulletins and reports.

Yemen has been experiencing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and floods since the beginning of the month, resulting in the deaths of dozens and significant damage to public and private property.
