The World Food Programme (WFP) has reported that Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah port in Yemen on July 20th, 2024, destroyed 800,000 liters of fuel belonging to the organization.

The WFP, in its report on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, stated that the fuel, intended for its on-demand services, was destroyed "due to airstrikes on Hodeidah port." The report implicitly refers to the Israeli airstrikes on the port, which is under the control of the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.

On July 20th, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Hodeidah port, resulting in dozens of casualties and significant material damage estimated at $20 million by the Houthi group.

The airstrikes came a day after a drone attack on Tel Aviv, claimed by the Iranian-backed Houthi group, killed one Israeli and injured nine others. The attack was described as a response to the "genocide" in Gaza.
