The United States announced on Monday, August 26th, 2024, the appointment of Jonathan Peccia as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Yemen. The announcement was made in a statement released by the US Embassy in Yemen.

The statement, seen by Bran Press, highlights Peccia's extensive experience and distinguished service spanning over two decades in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf region.

Since joining the Foreign Service in 2003, Peccia has held various significant positions, including Deputy Director of the Office of Arabian Peninsula Affairs and Political Counselor at the US Embassy in Tunisia.

His previous roles, according to the statement, include substantial contributions at US Embassies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Amman, Jordan; Baghdad, Iraq; and Tripoli, Libya.

The US Embassy further noted that Peccia has demonstrated strong leadership skills in the Office of Israeli and Palestinian Affairs, as well as in the US Embassies in Islamabad, Pakistan, and London, United Kingdom, in addition to the US Mission to the United Nations in Geneva.

Peccia holds a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs from George Washington University and a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. He met his wife, Darin, in Tunisia, and they have two children.
