On Friday, August 30th, 2024, thousands gathered in the Yemeni city of Ma'rib in a solidarity rally denouncing the "blatant" statements made by Israeli Minister of Security, Ben Gvir, regarding the construction of a Jewish temple on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The participants demanded that the international community hold Israel accountable for its actions, forcing it to comply with International Court of Justice rulings. They urged all international organizations and bodies concerned with human rights to condemn the blatant violations perpetrated by the "fascist entity."
A statement released by the rally, which was obtained by "Barran Press," strongly condemned the ongoing brutal massacres and collective punishment inflicted by the occupying forces in Gaza, as well as the escalation of violations in the West Bank.
The statement highlighted that the "fascist occupation's" continued campaign of annihilation in Gaza and the escalation of violations in the West Bank are a direct consequence of the suspicious silence of the international and Arab communities regarding these horrific crimes, coupled with the unwavering political and military support from the US administration and certain Western capitals.
The rally expressed astonishment at the stances of some nations that "preach justice" while continuing to apply double standards in conflicts, particularly in the context of the Israeli war on Palestinian cities.
The rally urged the Palestinian people in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem to declare a general mobilization and rally at Al-Aqsa Mosque, strengthening their presence and intensifying their resistance against attempts by the occupation and its extremists to defile the sanctity of Al-Aqsa.
The rally renewed its call upon Arab and Islamic governments, as well as free nations, to adopt a firm stance commensurate with the gravity of the situation, effectively halting the daily massacres, opening crossings for the delivery of humanitarian aid, and enabling international relief agencies to operate effectively.
The participants also reiterated their call for all Arab and Islamic peoples and freedom-loving individuals worldwide to express their rejection of the massacres and strengthen solidarity with the Palestinian people facing unprecedented annihilation.
The rally hailed the Palestinian resistance and its courageous people in every inch of the pure land of Palestine, who have written the most glorious pages of heroism and sacrifice during this epic struggle, safeguarding the nation's holy sites and principles with a torrent of blood. We, together with them, are destined for ultimate victory and a momentous achievement, by God's grace. Indeed, the day of reckoning is near.
For the ninth consecutive month, Ma'rib has witnessed solidarity events with the Palestinian people, who are enduring a brutal and devastating war waged by the Israeli occupation with unprecedented American and Western support.
These protest rallies have been attended by hundreds of citizens from diverse social and political backgrounds, including civil society organizations, university students, and students from religious institutions.
