Yemen's Government-Controlled Areas See 86% Passing Rate in High School Exams

The Yemeni Ministry of Education, recognized by the international community, announced on Thursday, September 5, 2024, the results of the general secondary school certificate exams for the 2023-2024 academic year. The passing rate for both the scientific and literary sections reached 86.1%.

According to a statement released on the ministry's official website, a total of 90,852 students took the exams across 887 testing centers. Of these, 74,480 students passed, with 62,019 in the scientific section and 12,461 in the literary section.

A total of 12,060 students failed, representing 13.9% of the test takers. Of these, 10,385 students failed the scientific section and 1,675 failed the literary section.

Prior to the announcement, the Minister of Education had contacted several students who had achieved top rankings in the liberated governorates, congratulating them on their achievements and acknowledging their hard work over the years.
