The Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced on Monday, September 16th, 2024, that its leadership held its first joint meeting with the political bureau of the National Resistance, led by Presidential Leadership Council member, Tariq Saleh.

According to the STC's official website, the meeting was co-chaired by Presidential Leadership Council members, Aidarous al-Zubaidi and Tariq Saleh. While the location of the meeting was not disclosed, both al-Zubaidi and Saleh are currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al-Zubaidi recently met with the US ambassador to Yemen, who reiterated his country's support for the unity and cohesion of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council.

The website stated that the meeting focused on discussing ways to enhance cooperation and coordination to strengthen efforts against Houthi militias and terrorist and extremist groups in all their forms.

Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous and effective communication and coordination on various relevant issues. They also agreed to form a joint communication and coordination committee to monitor developments.
