Abdullah Al-Alimi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Tuesday, praised the meeting between the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the National Resistance Political Bureau, calling it "a strengthening of unity and national cohesion."

In a post on X, monitored by "Barran Press," Al-Alimi stated, "Every meeting or dialogue, whether limited or broad, is a healthy sign for the body of the state. Just as disagreements, regardless of their size, are a healthy phenomenon, working to bridge them is the natural and correct stance." He added, "My brother and colleague, Major General Aidaroos, and my brother and colleague, Brigadier General Tariq, through their responsible leadership of their respective components, constitute one of the most important pillars of national construction."

Al-Alimi highlighted that the challenges facing Yemen require everyone to work within a national framework that unites voices, strengthens unity, and responds to the aspirations and national ambitions of the people.

On Monday, September 16, 2024, the Southern Transitional Council announced the first joint meeting of its leadership with the National Resistance Political Bureau, led by Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh.

According to the official website of the Southern Transitional Council, Presidential Leadership Council members Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and Tariq Saleh co-chaired a joint meeting of the Southern Transitional Council and the National Resistance Political Bureau.

The location of the meeting was not mentioned, but Al-Zubaidi and Saleh are currently in the United Arab Emirates. Al-Zubaidi previously held meetings, including one with the US Ambassador to Yemen, who affirmed his country's support for the unity and cohesion of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen.

The website stated that the meeting "discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination to strengthen efforts to confront the Houthi militias and terrorist and extremist groups in all their forms."

The meeting also highlighted the need for "continued communication and effective coordination on various files and related issues, and the formation of a communication and coordination committee to follow up on developments."
