On September 23, 2024, approximately 1,200 young scouts and guides showcased a marching display through the streets of Marib in celebration of the Yemeni revolution holidays, including September 26, October 14, and November 30.
According to the Marib Governorate website, participants from various scouting, youth, and student organizations across the country took part in the event, accompanied by the sounds of military music performed by a military band.
The military band played national anthems and festive songs that energized the crowds gathered along the streets and on balconies to greet the young marchers.
The parade commenced from the Banks Roundabout and proceeded along several streets, ultimately reaching the Al-Qardahi Roundabout near the university.
At Al-Qardahi Roundabout, the event was met with an official reception from Ali Al-Fatimi, the First Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Ali Hashwan, Director of Youth and Sports, and Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Ashoul, Director of Morale Guidance for the Yemeni Army.
Officials expressed their pride in the great Yemeni revolutions, highlighting their significance as a high humanitarian value that liberated the Yemeni people from the oppressive rule of the imamate and colonialism.
Next Thursday, Yemenis will celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the republic's establishment and the fall of the imamate system on September 26, 1962. As the first days of September arrived, Yemenis quickly adorned their social media profiles with slogans and chants related to the September 26 Revolution.
Since the Houthi group's takeover, which is internationally classified as a terrorist organization and viewed as an extension of the imamate regime, efforts have been made to erase the celebration of the September 26 Revolution from educational curricula and media, replacing it with commemorations of their takeover of the capital, Sana'a, on September 21, 2014.
