On September 23, 2024, Abdullah Al-Alimi, a member of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, reached out to assess the welfare of the Yemeni diplomatic staff, community members, and students studying in Lebanese institutions amid recent security developments in Lebanon.

During a phone call with Yemen's Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdullah Al-Dhaies, Al-Alimi received a comprehensive update on the situation of Yemeni nationals in various Lebanese cities. The ambassador reassured him that all individuals are receiving care and attention, with the embassy actively monitoring their conditions, according to the official Saba news agency.

Al-Alimi emphasized the importance of the embassy and its staff providing continuous support and assistance to the Yemeni community and students in Lebanon. He urged them to take all necessary measures to address their needs and ensure their well-being.

He reiterated the Council's commitment to the welfare of Yemeni nationals studying abroad and the importance of safeguarding their interests.

This call for reassurance comes as Israeli forces have launched extensive airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, targeting what they claim are 1,400 Hezbollah positions in the region since the morning of September 23.
