On September 23, 2024, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, President of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, met with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In their discussions, Al-Alimi emphasized the crucial need for regional and international support for Yemen's economic and service reforms, particularly in light of the catastrophic impacts of Houthi attacks—designated as a terrorist group—on oil facilities and international shipping routes.
The meeting, which also included Council members Aidarus Al-Zubaidi and Othman Majali, addressed the bilateral relations between Yemen and Kuwait, exploring promising avenues for collaboration across various sectors. They also reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, as the official Yemen News Agency, Saba reported.
Al-Alimi praised Kuwait's humanitarian and developmental interventions, acknowledging its consistent support for the Yemeni people's aspirations and political leadership during challenging times. He highlighted Kuwait's active role within the Saudi-led Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen.
In response, Crown Prince Sabah Khaled reaffirmed Kuwait's steadfast support for the Yemeni people and their leadership, emphasizing the importance of efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the country.
