On September 25, 2024, Yemen's national youth team kicked off their Asian qualifiers campaign in Group 6 with a solid 3-1 win against Timor-Leste at the Madya Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Despite rainy conditions, the Yemeni team dominated the match from the outset. They took the lead in the 28th minute with a goal from striker Abdulaziz Al-Masnoun, who doubled the score in the 56th minute.
Timor-Leste managed to narrow the gap by scoring their first goal in the 67th minute. However, Yemen's winger Abdulrahman Al-Khidr quickly restored the two-goal cushion with a third goal in the 70th minute, sealing the match at 3-1 in favor of Yemen.
With this victory, Yemen's youth team secured their first three points, placing them at the top of Group 6, which also includes the Maldives and Indonesia.
