On Thursday, September 26, 2024, dozens of leaders from the popular resistance in Ibb and Marib provinces marched to visit the grave of Ali Abdul Al-Mughni, a prominent figure of the September Revolution.

Organizers stated that the event was a response to the repressive actions of the Houthi movement against the residents of Al-Saddah, the birthplace of AbulMughni, aimed at preventing the annual celebrations of the September 26 Revolution.

The march began in the morning at the Sheikh Ali Nasser Al-Qirda'i Roundabout in central Marib, proceeding through the city’s streets adorned with national flags and images of both Al-Qirda'i and AbulMughni, ultimately reaching the grave site located to the west of the city.

Participants chanted slogans honoring the September Revolution and reiterated their commitment to the legacy of the two martyrs, emphasizing their determination to continue the fight against the Houthi insurgency, which they view as a modern incarnation of the Imamates that the September revolutionaries opposed.

Despite the Houthi crackdown, which is internationally classified as terrorism, Ibb province witnessed widespread celebrations the night before, with the skies lit up by fireworks and bonfires symbolizing the spirit of the revolution across various districts and rural areas.

In the days leading up to the September Revolution anniversary, Ibb experienced a significant wave of arrests by the Houthis, targeting dozens of individuals advocating for the celebrations, including local leaders, politicians, and activists.
