Tribal sources reported on Saturday that the body of a citizen was discovered next to his vehicle on a desert road in Al-Jawf province, northeastern Yemen.

According to sources speaking to Barran Press, the victim was found beside his car along the desert route near the "Al-Labnat" area, east of the district of "Al-Hazm," which serves as the provincial center of Al-Jawf.

The sources indicated that the individual was shot while traveling along the desert road near the "Al-Labnat" area, which is under the control of the Houthi group, listed internationally as a terrorist organization.

The location of the incident is situated between Houthi positions and the sixth military zone forces in eastern Al-Jawf.

The closure of main roads by the Houthis has severely impacted travelers, forcing them to navigate alternative, rugged, and unsafe routes, leading to numerous fatalities in various Yemeni provinces.

In early June 2024, the road connecting Al-Bayda to Al-Juba and Marib was reopened following a grassroots initiative that exerted public pressure on the Houthis, prompting them to respond positively to a proposal by Council member Major General Sultan Al-Aradah, which was announced in February. This initiative aimed to open roads unilaterally.
