In a critical meeting held on Saturday, members of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan Al-Irada and Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Mubarak, convened in Marib to discuss efforts aimed at bolstering the combat capabilities of the armed forces. The meeting focused on both tactical and strategic readiness in the ongoing existential battle against the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

The assembly, attended by key military figures including Chief of General Staff General Sager bin Aziz and Inspector General of the Army Major General Adel Al-Qumairi, aimed to assess the needs of the armed forces. Discussions centered on enhancing operational performance and improving conditions for military personnel across various sectors, as reported by the state-run Saba News Agency.

Key Outcomes and Action Plans

The meeting resulted in a series of decisions and actionable measures designed to address the urgent financial, logistical, and administrative needs of the armed forces. These steps are intended to elevate performance levels and establish a military institution based on professional standards.

Al-Irada emphasized the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to support both military and security institutions. He reiterated the importance of improving the conditions for personnel and advancing reforms to modernize and enhance their capabilities.

He noted that the visit by the Prime Minister and accompanying ministers to Marib reflects the political leadership's interest in military affairs and their responsibility-sharing with local authorities in liberated areas to better the lives of citizens during these extraordinary circumstances.

Commitment to the Armed Forces

Bin Mubarak highlighted that the government prioritizes the welfare of the armed and security forces, focusing on addressing the needs of personnel and ensuring adequate resources for frontline operations. He underscored the significance of supporting wounded soldiers and caring for the families of martyrs.

Addressing military leaders, he stated, “You are the frontline in this decisive battle, and it is our duty to provide everything necessary for the soldiers and fighters on the front lines. Their sacrifices are crucial for the republic and the nation, and with God's help, their efforts will yield a resounding victory.”

Bin Mubarak pledged to prioritize support for the military institution, ensuring it has the essential resources to fulfill its national duties during this critical phase. He stressed the need for financial and administrative reforms, viewing them as vital for enhancing military and security institutions and improving the conditions of personnel across all ranks.

He concluded by expressing gratitude and respect for all members of the armed forces stationed at various fronts, recognizing their sacrifices in the ongoing struggle to defend the republican system and the national project aimed at ending the Houthi coup and restoring state institutions.

The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Salem bin Brek and the Prime Minister's Office Director Anis Baharitha.
