On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning predicted thunderstorms of varying intensity across 16 Yemeni provinces in the coming hours.
In its daily bulletin, which was reviewed by "Barran Press," the center indicated that thunderstorms accompanied by hail and downdrafts are expected in the Tihama plain and parts of the provinces of Lahij, Aden, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al Hudaydah, and Al Mahwit.
Additionally, the center forecast scattered rain with occasional thunder in the western regions of Hajjah, Sana'a, and Dhamar, along with parts of Al Bayda, Al Dhale'e, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al Mahrah. Fog or mist is also anticipated in the western highlands during the night and early morning hours.
The report detailed that rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours at several weather stations included: 10.8 mm in Ibb, 10.6 mm in Sana'a, and 1.3 mm in Al Hudaydah. Furthermore, varying intensities of rainfall, some of which were heavy, fell outside the monitoring stations in parts of Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Raymah, Taiz, Al Bayda, Lahij, Aden, and Hadramout.
