On Monday, October 21, 2024, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched the distribution of emergency food assistance to 1,260 displaced families affected by heavy rainfall in Al-Jawf province, northeastern Yemen.

During the distribution event, Shakir Al-Shayef, the Director of Planning in Al-Jawf and Coordinator of the Relief Committee, praised the efforts of the King Salman Center and its implementing partner, the Humanitarian Development Program, in alleviating the suffering of families impacted by the floods.

Al-Shayef noted that this intervention is part of the ongoing support provided by the King Salman Center across various humanitarian and developmental sectors in Al-Jawf.

The assistance included 1,260 food baskets, totaling 1,584 cartons of food supplies, distributed through the King Salman Center and its partner organization.

The initiative aims to alleviate the hardships faced by affected families and meet their basic needs amid the challenging conditions exacerbated by climate changes.

Ahmad Bin Dahman, Coordinator of the Humanitarian Development Program, emphasized that this support is part of broader efforts to assist affected families and mitigate their suffering, confirming a commitment to continue mobilizing resources for such humanitarian initiatives.

The launch event was attended by the Director of the Executive Unit for Managing Displaced Persons' Camps in Al-Jawf and several community committees from the camps.
