During the incident, which occurred while Saleh was returning from a visit to the Al-Hudaydah districts and attending a meeting with local leaders, he sustained a shoulder fracture. One of his companions also suffered a broken arm, while the driver and his family were injured when their vehicle collided with three cars from Saleh's convoy.
The accident reportedly happened due to the loss of control by the driver of a small truck after racing with another vehicle, leading to the collision with the convoy. Saleh was subsequently transported to the command center of the resistance forces, where arrangements are being made for his surgical procedure.
