The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted scattered rain across western and southern Yemen in the coming hours, along with relatively cold weather in mountainous and desert areas.

In its daily weather bulletin released on November 5, 2024, reviewed by Barran Press, the center indicated that mountainous regions would experience clear to partly cloudy skies, with cooler temperatures during the night and early morning hours. During the day, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to overcast, with intermittent rainfall accompanied by thunder in parts of Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, and the Tihama highlands.

The center also noted the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in parts of the provinces of Sana'a, Dhamar, Al-Dhale, Lahij, Abyan, and Shabwa, with a chance of fog and low-lying mist forming in the mountainous areas of Lahij, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah.

Coastal areas are expected to see partly cloudy skies with scattered rain possible in the Socotra Archipelago, eastern Gulf of Aden, parts of the Tihama plain, and the western coasts, while light to moderate rain may occur along the southern and eastern coastlines. Moderate winds are anticipated to strengthen in the eastern Gulf of Aden, the southern Red Sea, and the Bab al-Mandab entrance.

The center also reported that desert areas would experience clear weather that may become relatively cool at night and in the early morning, with moderate winds occasionally stirring dust and sand.

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning cautioned against staying in low-lying areas and riverbeds during and after rainfall, warning drivers of reduced visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rain, fog, and low clouds.

Additionally, it advised people, especially children, the elderly, and outdoor workers, to take necessary precautions against the relatively cold weather during nighttime and early morning hours.
