On Saturday evening, November 9, 2024, US and British aircraft conducted three airstrikes in the capital city of Sana'a, which remains under the control of the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by the international community.
According to Houthi media sources, the airstrikes targeted the Al-Nahdain and Al-Hafa military camps located in the Sab'een district, south of Sana'a.
Since October, the Houthi group has intensified its attacks using missiles and drones against commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Aden.
In response to these threats and to safeguard maritime navigation, the United States formed a multinational coalition in December 2023. US forces have periodically carried out strikes against Houthi military targets.
As of January 12, the total number of US and British airstrikes against the Houthis has reached approximately 560, resulting in the deaths of 58 individuals and injuries to 86 others, as acknowledged by the group.
