The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasted cold weather on November 12, 2024, particularly during the night and early morning hours in mountainous regions, with scattered rainfall expected in several provinces.
In its daily report, obtained by Barran Press, the center indicated that mountainous areas, including Saada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda, will experience clear and cold conditions at night and in the early morning. The forecast also noted that the temperatures in Dhamar could drop to as low as 3 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in Sana’a may reach 5 degrees, 6 degrees in Saada, 7 degrees in Amran and Al-Bayda, and 8 degrees in Ibb.
During the day, the weather is expected to be mostly clear with some clouds and scattered rain in parts of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz.
The coastal areas are likely to experience partly cloudy conditions with active winds reaching speeds of up to 20 knots in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The center also warned that desert regions may see relatively cool weather at night with the formation of low clouds and light to moderate winds.
Authorities advised the public, especially children, the elderly, and outdoor workers, to take necessary precautions against the cold weather during the night and early morning hours.
