On November 13, 2024, internationally recognized Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmad Bin Mubarak mandated the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to expedite approvals for grant-funded projects and to actively monitor the implementation of agreements. He emphasized the need to address any execution obstacles and to provide quarterly progress reports.

This directive came during a visit to the Ministry of Planning, where Bin Mubarak sought to assess ongoing tasks and reforms, as well as to rally regional and international support for expanding cooperation with donor countries, international organizations, and institutions.

Bin Mubarak also instructed the ministry to secure new office space to create a conducive work environment for employees, stressing the importance of activating internal audit management to enhance transparency and governance.

He called for the completion of the ministry's organizational structure in key sectors and the activation of the development planning sector, as well as technical, scientific, and cultural cooperation.

The Prime Minister underscored the necessity for improved coordination between the Ministry of Planning and other ministries, local authorities, and donor partners, urging the establishment of effective coordination mechanisms for local, regional, and international collaboration.

He highlighted the importance of continuous coordination with Arab and international organizations, advocating for the relocation of their offices to the capital, Aden, and prioritizing local organizations in securing donor support.

In response, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Badhieb outlined the ministry's efforts to strengthen partnerships with donors and plan humanitarian responses, noting achievements and the commitment to enhance relationships with funding institutions and explore new collaboration opportunities with Yemen's partners.
