A horrific traffic accident in Dhamar governorate resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals, including six members of a single family, on November 16, 2024.

According to a local source speaking to "Barran Press," the collision occurred between a Toyota Hilux and a taxi in the "Qaa Samaa" area, east of Dhamar city. The deceased include Najy Mohammed Al-Khadr, Qaid Najy Aziz, his wife, daughter, and granddaughter, along with four other victims.

The crash also left four others injured, including the Hilux driver, Sharaf Mohammed Mahdi Al-Miyah, from the village of Makhaq in Ibb governorate. The injured individuals are reported to be in critical condition and have been admitted to intensive care.

Notably, six of the deceased were part of a family from Ibb who were en route to attend a wedding in Marib governorate. Miraculously, one child survived the accident.
