The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning announced on November 18, 2024, that severe cold weather is anticipated in five Yemeni provinces over the coming hours.

In its daily bulletin, reviewed by Barran Press, the center indicated that mountainous regions, including Saada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda, are expected to experience clear skies with cold to very cold temperatures during the night and early morning.

The center also noted that the highlands of Ibb, Al-Dhale, Lahij, and Abyan will have cold weather, with low cloud formations likely developing during the afternoon in parts of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Ibb, Raymah, and Taiz.

Coastal areas are forecasted to have partly cloudy skies, with a chance of light rain on the southern coasts and Socotra Archipelago. Winds are expected to be active, reaching speeds of up to 25 knots at the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and western Gulf of Aden.

The center highlighted that desert regions are likely to experience clear skies with relatively cool temperatures at night, accompanied by light to moderate winds.

Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops, while beekeepers and livestock herders should also prepare for the cold conditions. Citizens are urged to be cautious, especially children, school students, the elderly, and outdoor workers during the night and early morning hours.
