Ahmed Bin Daghr, the leader of the National Coalition of Political Parties and Chairman of the Yemeni Shura Council, hailed the recent meeting between Islah Party leaders and Aidarus Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and head of the Southern Transitional Council, as a positive step toward comprehensive national reconciliation.
In a post on the platform X monitored by Barran Press, Bin Daghr stated that "the interests of the nation require strengthening and solidifying relationships among forces opposing the destructive Houthi imamate project in Yemen, which is linked to an Iranian expansionist agenda in the region."
He emphasized that Yemen is gradually approaching the demands of the current phase and its significant tasks, noting a growing shared vision of the nature of the conflict. He called for a departure from exclusionary rhetoric and the illusions of singularity in political discourse, expressing optimism that a renewed vigor is emerging in their collective political thinking.
Bin Daghr asserted that the fight against the Houthis is not merely a northern or southern issue but a national responsibility that involves all segments of society—politically, socially, and culturally. He underscored that the Southern Transitional Council has become one of the pillars of the state’s expression of authority.
Yesterday, Zubaidi met with a delegation from the Islah Party in Riyadh, marking the first public meeting between the two leaderships. The meeting emphasized the need for ongoing coordination to overcome differences and unify efforts to establish a solid national base aimed at liberating Yemen from the Houthi's oppressive agenda.
Zubaidi welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of unity and continuous coordination to achieve these goals, highlighting that restoring the state and ending the Houthi coup should be a priority for all forces involved.
The Islah delegation reiterated the importance of national forces supporting legitimacy and maintaining unity to continue the national battle against the Houthi imamate project and restore the state. They expressed satisfaction with the meeting, emphasizing the necessity of continuous communication to serve the higher national interest and unify efforts to confront challenges posed by the Iranian-backed militia project.
