– On Saturday, November 24, 2024, Yemeni researcher Abdullah Mohsen reported the presence of two ancient marble heads of men from the Saba civilization in a museum in the United States.

In a post on Facebook, which was noted by Bran Press, Mohsen revealed that the unique marble heads are housed in the collections of the Pennsylvania Museum and are part of a larger collection of 104 artifacts acquired by the museum from collector Quill Jones.

According to Mohsen, the first head depicts a man with a carved beard and mustache, engraved eyes and eyebrows, and a painted pupil, with the top of the head cut flat.

The second head features a man with a similar flat top, resembling a triangular mask with visible design lines; the eyes and eyebrows are carved, and the nostrils are clearly defined.

Mohsen noted that Quill Jones acquired several Yemeni artifacts in 1930, selling 104 pieces including inscriptions, statues, bronzes, and ancient agate jewelry to the Pennsylvania Museum.

As a specialist in tracking Yemeni artifacts sold at international auctions, Mohsen's work has become a vital resource for media outlets seeking information on the sale of artifacts worldwide and their locations in various museums.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen, which began in 2015, has led to widespread looting and organized smuggling of significant quantities of artifacts. Estimates suggest that over 10,000 pieces have been exhibited at international auctions and platforms during the war.
